Numbers 17:7 - 13

Moses laid up the rods before Yahweh in the tent of the testimony. It happened on the next day, that Moses went into the tent of the testimony; and behold, Aaron's rod for the house of Levi had sprouted, budded, produced blossoms, and bore ripe almonds. Moses brought out all the rods from before Yahweh to all the children of Israel. They looked, and each man took his rod. Yahweh said to Moses, "Put back the rod of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the children of rebellion; that you may make an end of their murmurings against me, that they not die." Moses did so. As Yahweh commanded him, so he did. The children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, "Behold, we perish! We are undone! We are all undone! Everyone who keeps approaching Yahweh's tabernacle, dies! Will we all perish?"

Exodus 16:31 - 36 - The house of Israel called its name Manna, and it was like coriander seed, white; and its taste was like wafers with honey. Moses said, "This is the thing which Yahweh has commanded, `Let an omer-full of it be kept throughout your generations, that they may see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.'" Moses said to Aaron, "Take a pot, and put an omer-full of manna in it, and lay it up before Yahweh, to be kept throughout your generations." As Yahweh commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept. The children of Israel ate the manna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land. They ate the manna until they came to the borders of the land of Canaan. Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.
